What do you wear when you snowboard?
Okay, so, I'm gonna go snowboarding this weekend, and this is my first time. So, I don't really know what to wear... I am, however, going to be renting the board. And I have managed to borrow someone's ski goggles. But as for my apparel, I'm unsure on what to wear. Any suggestions, you frequent skiers/snowboarders?
The basic kit is -
waterproof pants
waterproof jacket
gloves
goggles
(you should get your boots with your board.)
these 4 items are essential - do not even attempt snowboarding without them. Many is the belly laugh I have had at the hapless punter trying to board or ski in jeans or without gloves.
You may or may not need something to keep your head warm but in spring conditions you might get away without having one - however you are a beginner so I would strongly recommend a helmet. A proper snow sports helmet usually has insulation built in.
Dont make the mistake of putting too much warm clothing on underneath your waterproofs before you go up the hill - you might be cold in the carpark but once you get moving on the hill you tend to warm up a lot.
