Dubai is one of the United Arab Emirates most impressive success stories. In little more than 20 years the city has grown from small town obscurity to the undisputed business and leisure hub of the Middle East. Indeed, at the tip of The Dubai Palm is the Atlantis Palm resort, one of Dubai’s most recently opened attractions that has helped propel Dubai to the top of many holidaymakers’ desired destination lists. Overlooking, the Arabian Gulf the hotel offers 1373 rooms and 166 suites, and is set to become one of the world’s premier resorts. Offering the best in Dubai holidays it includes features such as the superb Aquaventure water park, the chance to swim with dolphins and also an underwater feature called the Lost Chambers, where as well as being able to view 65,000 marine animals visitors can also feed rays.
Despite being located on a coastal plain in the desert, Dubai is also fast becoming one of the world’s top indoor ski locations. Dubai is expecting to welcome more than 10million visitors to the Emirate in 2010, helping it towards it ambitious target of 15million by 2015. Given the ever-increasing number of flights offered by major airlines to Dubai and the growing numbers of hotel rooms expected to reach 141,000 by 2015, the city of Dubai will doubtless feature on the itineraries of many more UK holidaymakers over the next few years.
